CWDM Dual Fiber Muxes and CWDM Single Fiber Muxes
Optical fiber communication commonly uses fiber pairs for bi-directional communication, just like most optical duplex transceivers using duplex patch cables. In passive CWDM, single fiber mux is also possible and Arkoptics has developed a full range of CWDM and DWDM single fiber Mux/Demux and OADM to accommodate these requirements. In single fiber applications, different wavelengths are used to generate bi-directional connections.
Fiber-pair operation
Bi-directional configuration using same wavelength on two separate fiber strands.
1 fiber dedicated for transmit direction
1 fiber dedicated for receive direction
Single-fiber operation
Bi-directional configuration using two different wavelengths on a single fiber.
1 wavelength dedicated for transmit direction

Technical Data
CWDM multiplexers for single fiber application
CWDM muxes and CWDM OADMs can build up a point-to-point connection by using CWDM transceivers.
Single fiber CWDM mux should be used in pairs, which transmits and receives different wavelengths into a fiber in the opposite direction. If Side A module plug and plays at one end, them Side B module must be at the other end.
Rigorous application test
When we talk about the optical transmission, we will have to put eyes on the optical performance. Our single fiber CWDM multiplexers will pass rigorously application tested under end-use conditions. We stand behind of our quality and promise our clients with limited lifetime warranty.
Applications of single fiber CWDM multiplexers
CWDM Multiplexer products combine multiple data signals into one signal for transport over one fiber. CWDM Demultiplexers separate the signal at the other end. Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) greatly increases capacity of systems.
The main fields of CWDM applications are the use in SDH (STM-1, STM-4, STM-16, STM- 64), IP (Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit) ATM and storage (1G, 2G, 4G, 8G, 10G Fiber Channel) networks
Arkoptics offers standardized and customized CWDM single fiber muxes in LGX cassettes and 1U 19鈥?rackmount.
Our single fiber plug and play CWDM modules can fit with our 1U 2-slot rackmount. Also we can provide high density 1U 4-slot rackmount chassis.
Our CWDM and DWDM products have been widely approved by many network operators in Europe, North America and South America. Our quality, our service, our promise and our price will never let you down.
FAQ
Q: Hi, I鈥檓 looking for a single fiber CWDM mux/demux and interested in arkoptics CWDM single fiber mux. If I use on side A at 1270nm, do I need the same transceiver on side B or do I need a transceiver with 1290nm?
A: If you use the 1270nm transceiver on Side-A you should use the 1290nm transceiver on Side-B
Q: Hello Shawn, I am interested in your CWDM single fibre Mux, Are our standard CWDM optics compatible with your Mux. Like the picture I sent you before, can that optic TX at 1550nm and RX at 1570nm?
A: Hi Ken, your CWDM transceiver is compatible with this single fiber CWDM Mux Demux, also it should be used in pairs with your CWDM optics to realize the single fiber bidirectional transmission. When the Side B matches you鈥檙e your CWDM 1550nm transceiver, the Side A should be used together with CWDM 1570nm transceiver. All of your CWDM transceivers have wideband receivers, it emits a fixed wavelength optical signal and can receive the signal in all CWDM bands from 1270-1610nm.
Q: Can I use the 100G module on arkoptics cwdm single fiber MUX?
A: This Mux should be customized with a 1310nm port to use with 100G modules. You can email us for custom parameters.
Q: With arkoptics 9 channel cwdm single fiber multiplexer, use G652 B/D dark fiber+ 10G 40K transceiver, can I create a 30km connection with use amp?
A: Hi, kindly note that this is the CWDM Mux Demux, it doesn't support the Amplifier. If you have any other questions, welcome to contact us at [email protected]
Q: How is the sfp used for this CWDM Mux Demux?
A: The single-fiber bidirectional link is two different wavelength modules to transmit one service, and the corresponding wavelength module can be used on the MUX channel port.
Q: Does single-fiber bidirectional WDM network support to use with BIDI transceivers?
A: BIDI transceivers cannot be use with single-fiber bidirectional MUX DEMUX together directly, but they can be converted into WDM transceivers that have corresponding wavelengths by OEO to transport business.
Q: With arkoptics singe fiber cwdm mux, use G652 B/D dark fiber+ 10G 40K transceiver, can I create a 30km connection with use amp?
A: No, amplifier can't be used in CWDM system. For 30km connection, we recommend to use 10G 80KM transceivers instead of 10G 40KM ones with G652 B/D dark fiber.
Q: Can ABS packaging be customized? What should be considered?
A: Yes. Fiber diameter ( 2.0mm, 0.9mm, 3.0mm ), pigtail length ( 0.25~2m, no extra charge ), with/without connectors, and ABS size (141*115*18mm, 120*80*18mm, 100*80*10mm) need to be considered.
Q: How to select the wavelengths for WDM transceivers to match single fiber Mux/Demux?
A: Single fiber Mux/Demux are always used in pairs. The transmit wavelength of the client port at side-A must match the receive wavelength of the same client port at side-B. As for the wavelength of the transceiver, it is mainly based on the transmit wavelength of the client port.
Q: There is currently a CWDM single-fiber solution. The distance between two points is about 18km. The following products are expected to be purchased: 1x 9ch cwdm single fiber mux 1270-1590nm, 1x 9ch cwdm single fiber mux 1290-1610nm, 1x 1u rackmount, 6x CWDM-SFP1G-ZX 40km distance. each of the following frequencies 1270nm Pair 1 1290nm Pair 1 1310nm Pair 2 1330nm Pair 2 1350nm Pair 3 1370nm Pair 3 Please help me to confirm whether the purchased product is correct.
A: There is no problem with product selection for MUX DEMUX and chassis, but the number of modules needs to be checked. Since single fiber transmission is used, two different bands are required to transmit one 1G service. Therefore, from 1270nm to 1610nm band, each band can be achieved by choosing a module without purchasing duplicate bands.
Q: What are the advantages of Arkoptics 9CH CWDM Mux Demux?
A: This product has low insertion loss, wide operating temperature ranges (-40掳C~ +85掳C), compact package and the low-band wavelengths that have low dispersion, making the efficient and flexible outdoor application is feasible.
Q: is it that the two can be used properly together and cannot be used while buying them separately?
A: Yes, Arkoptics 9 channel cwdm single fiber mux should be used in pairs for single fiber bi-directional transmission; Or use separately for single fiber unidirectional transmission.
Q: I would nevertheless have a question, what would be the optics usable with these multiplexers and demultiplexers?
A: WDM MUX/DEMUX need to be used with WDM module, with the specific parameters of the module according to the customer's equipment, the required transmission rate, transmission distance to determine the specific.
Q: Can you explain how to use this. Side A is 1271-1371, side B is 1471-1571. If I want to connect 2 devices together over a channel, do I use a 1270nm SFP on one side, and a 1470nm on the other? (your other single fibre CWDM muxes would pair up a 1270 with a 1290...).
A: What you understand is correct, this custom 6CH CWDM MUX side A band is 1271-1371, side B band is 1471-1571, transmission all the way service on both sides with the use of CWDM modules for 1270/1470, 1290/1490, 1310/1510, 1330/1530, 1350/1550, 1370/1570
Q: Does arkoptics 9 channel cwdm contain lithium batteries? Does it contain encrypted information?
A: No lithium battery, No encrypted information.
Q: I saw the difference in bandwidth per channel and channel space is different but what does that imply?
A: In the same band range, the smaller the channel spacing the more channels can be carried.
Q: Are there enclosures arkoptics can provide to mount this 9 channel cwdm single fiber mux?
A: If needed, we can customize a matching termination box for you to install this module. And we recommend our Mux/Demux with Plug-in Module housing or 2-Slot 1U 19" Rack Chassis or 1U Rackmount panel. Please contact me by [email protected] to get more details.Passive Multiplexer manufacturer
